SEAMEO aims to uplift the quality of education, science, culture and to promote sustainable human resources for a better quality of life in Southeast Asia through enhancing understanding and cooperation, providing a platform for policy dialogues, and promoting program excellence.

Leading through Learning
SEAMEO, or the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization, is a regional intergovernmental organization dedicated to promoting regional cooperation and development in education, science, and culture among Southeast Asian nations. Established in 1965, SEAMEO aims to enhance the quality of education and human resource development in the region through collaborative initiatives, research, capacity-building, and knowledge sharing among its member countries.


SEAMEO's activities encompass a wide range of educational areas, including teacher training, curriculum development, research, and the promotion of cultural exchange and understanding among Southeast Asian nations. It plays a significant role in fostering regional integration and advancement in education and related fields.
